Please list what is subjective and what is objective from the above commercials. Bring it to class. Then please leave a comment on this blog about how these commercials are biased. (Try to add something unique to the discussion, not just the obvious)
These commercials are biased because they only give us one side of the story. In the Obama commercial, they only talk about how Obama thinks our jobs are doing fine when really there not, they do not talk about anything else he said during that speech.
The commercials are biased when in the the Obama commercial the statment "The Private sector's doing fine" Was said on June 8th. When was the commercial published? In the Romney commercial the end stated that AFSCME is responible for the commercial.
These commericals are biased in that they are eaching trying to cast a negative viewpoint on the presidential canidates. Obviously "Just Fine" is biased against President Obama and "AFSCME anti-Romney ad 'Greed' 2012" is biased agianst Presidential Canidate Mitt Romney. "Just Fine" is biased to show President Obamam as an ignorant leader who knows nothing about the current economic situation. "anti-Romney" is biased to show Mitt Romney as a corrupt business man who can't be trusted with power. However the quote, "The private sector is doing just fine." is not in context, and could have an entire different meaning when put into the speach President Obama was giving. Furthermore just because the company that Romney was in charge of was tied to fraud, doesn't mean Romney had anything to do with it. He could be completly innocent, unable to mannage his company and keep it out of illegal ventures, but still, innocent.
They are biased because they are both really opinions some people may think that Mitt Romney is greedy but some people may not and some people may think that the private sector isn't doing fine but some may think it is.
The commercials are biased because this add is saying tht Romney was the one who lead this scandal where Romney may not have anything to do with it.A corporation has lots of employees and maybe only 2 or 3 of them were doing this and Romney just got blamed because he was in charge of them, but this add put full blame on Romney.
Both of these two videos are biased becasue they both try to pursway your oppinion to go one way or the other. Dont show both sides of the case or sitation either.
These are biased on so many different levels. The people making the commercial obviously want you to think their way, so they are going to be biased toward what they think is right.
These two commercials are both very biased. In 'Doing Fine' the commercial slashes Barrack and claims that he is out of touch with the rest of America. It only shows the republicans opinion so that it may try to convince viewers not to vote for Barrack. In the anti-Romney commercial it tells of Romney's past as a business man, and of some of his mistakes. It's biased because it only focuses on how his company defrauded medicare. They are to show how Mitt Romney is not the right man for the job so the viewers will think twice before voting for Mitt.
These commercials are biased because even though they use facts, they're using the facts against one person and putting some opinion in it. In the "doing fine" commercial the facts are making Obama look bad and same for the "Anti-Romney" commercial.
The Obama commercial is biased to Mitt Romney's favor, suggesting that Obama "thinks the private sector is doing fine" by only taking out the words that fit their argument the most.
clearly, both of these commercials contain bias towards their candidates. They're trying to put their opponents in a bad light. I also think that both of these videos probably contain quotes that are taken out of context, because they don't show the whole clips or sentences where they originated from.
These commercials are biased because obviously each commercial is attacking one of the candidates. They also don't even say anything about the candidate the commercials are supposed to be supporting.
In the first commercial it tells about President Obama, it gives many facts and opions. But one that caught my attion is when President claims that the private sector is doing fine. In the commercial they state that the private sector is not doing fine. But they dont tell us what is wrong with the private sector. In the second commercial about Mit Romney they gave many facts and opions that tell us where they got the information in the commercial. And it also tells us about medicare fraud he caused. I think the first commercial is more biased then the second commercial because in the first commerical they do not state where they got their information.
For the 2nd video, I think that all that stuff about Romney's business failure and all that data, is almost irrelevant to the topic of presidency. It might be completeley relevent, but also it could have nothing to do with how he would run the country. A country and buisness are completely different things to me. I might be wrong, but thats just my opinion.
These commercials are being biased when they asume that we should not vote for Obama but vote for Romney and vice versa just because they made one mistake, that they are not a good president.
These articles are both biased because they both include different opinions about certain people. Whether they like these people or not they say what they think.
It was biased because they used really sad things to help their videos. They used sad footage of families or sad pictures. They used neat effects and stats to help their case in a way. It changed people's thought of the electors.
It was biased because they used really sad things to help their videos. They used sad footage of families or sad pictures. They used neat effects and stats to help their case in a way. It changed people's thought of the electors.
both videos were biased that the candidate was bad and couldnt handle money good enough and they dont understand the problem or the people at all so they won't/can't be a good leader.
the way they were bias is because they talked only the negative of their opponents and they did not talk about them in both perspectives. They made the viewers feel like that is the only thing Obama/Romney does.
Uhm I don't really know what to comment but for the first video Obama is dumb. No offense. With him saying that in genreal everyone is ok. Which is obviously not true.
These videos are misleading the first implys that the private sector is losing jobs but it is really gaining jobs just not that quickly the second video implys that Mitt Romney in a criminal but he claims to have reported the crime so I don't know what to believe about him.
Some people might like Romney, not all people would agree that he is a medicare fraud. Obama said that private sectors are doing fine, but a lot of private sectors could be many jobs below employment.
These commercials are biased because almost half of the commercial is subjective and made their candidate look better and more honest/in touch with current events.
These videos are baised on how presidents and people running for president have ruined history. They also shows the negitive and positive of that person either with facts of opinions in a commerical.
The videos are biased because they may twist the facts to make it look like they are a better candidates then the other people running, they are trying to make themselves look good.
Both of these videos are very biased due to the fact that they dont let you see the other side of the story. In the first video about the private sector it has all of the opionions for against the president what about for him? Also, in the second video it explains how Romney is a bad buissness man and shows all of the bad things he has comitted. They did that to think twice about voting for him, then instead, vote for Obama.
Anti-Romney- They are biased about how greedy Romney was, by showing the bad facts about him draining money into his hands. They didn't state how he did good things on the subject. Doing Fine- In "Doing Fine," Obama claimed everything was just fine. Then facts were stating how he was doing bad and the un-employment was taking a hit, but Obama was saying it was just fine. Facts were still saying how it wasn't alright. They didn't give his side to what he was doing to make it better.
These articles are both very biased. In the first video,"Doing Fine", it conveys the message that Obama is out of touch and is making the private sector go down hill. What they dont explain is how he did it and it doesnt show the other side of the story. In addition, the second video says what kind of a buissness man is Romney and how he did caused all of these bad frauds. Maybe he didnt committ them, and the group that made this was Obama trying to make voters voting for Romney think twice.
In both of the following videos there is a bias opinion. In, 'doing fine' they are biased against Barack Obama. They say he isn't in touch with all the people, and he doesn't understand what we are going through. Making them try to persuade the audience to vote for Romney. The second video, 'AFSCME anti-Romney ad "greed" 2012"' They are telling about Mitt's past and the mistakes he made verse the reason we should elect him.
Both of these videos are biased. The creators sway you to think what they want you to. The video "Doing Fine" features Obamo saying that "The private sectors are doing fine," but it does include the rest of the speech or the date. It repeated this statement and includes statistics such as that there are 12.7 million people unenployed and that debt reaches $15 trillion, but neither of these even include where or when. The Anti-Romney ad tried to make it look as if Romney was the reason for the fraud and was greedy.
America. This is bias because they made Obama look like a horrible president by only showing people the negative effects of his presidency. Also the video did not play Obama's whole statement. In "AFSCME anti-Romney ad "Greed" 2012" they made Romney look like like a greedy man. How could we trust this commercial if they do not provide enough evidence to say that HE defrauded medicare. The video only stated that he was a director of the corporation during the fraud. Both videos are bias.
Doing fine:This is bias because all but one statistic comes from the bureau of labor statistics and I went to the website and the private sectors are opening and closing at the same rate for the past 10 years and the facts they provide didn't even involve the private sector they talk about unemployment and it could of been any unemployment not just the private sector."private sector noun the area of the nation's economy under private rather than governmental control". That saying comes from http://dictionary.reference.com and the government debt has nothing to do with the private sector Mitt Romney:In the mitt Romney commercial the facts are from the Boston Globe, a newspaper and newspapers are not always true and are hard to trust.
Both of these commercials are biased towards their opponents. Each commercial represents Romney, or President Obama in a negative way, and pointing out the mistakes that were made in the past, thus, making the other candidate look better.
These videos are both biased. In the first one, "Doing Fine," the statement made by Obama that "The private sector's doing fine" is continuousely repeated, yet they do not include any of the rest of the speech, or when this was said. They imply that he can't fix our economy if he doesn't know what's wrong. The statistics say that 12.7 million people are unenployed and debt has reached $15 million, but they don't say when or where. The anti-Romney ad blames Romney for the Damon corp. fraud. Both of these commercials go against other canidates.
The two commercials above, are both biased because the Obama video is saying only bad things about Obama and the Romney video is only saying bad things about the Romney video. Neither of the videos state anything bad about the other candidate running for president. Also, in the Romney video they make the color black and white to make him seem boring and in the Obama video they make him repeat,"the private sector is doing fine," making him sound not so smart and keeping to his word.
These commercials are biased because it only gives one side of the opinion. They said that Obama's statement, "private sectors are fine," was false. They also said that Mitt Romney was greedy and a corporate fraud.
These videos are biased. They make it seem like all obama said was "private sector is doing fine." but really had a lot more to his speech. The second video is comparing the guy to some other person.
In the commercial about Obama it's biased because it takes one clip of his voice and makes him sound very wrong by supporting it with facts that appear on animated newspapers that most probably assume are true. In the Mitt Romney one it only focuses on Romney's past mistakes and I checked out www.afscme.org and it looked like a news website for interesting stories... so no wonder why they would want to make it like that.
yes we all know that each video was biased because they like a certain person but i think the they could have chosen parts of what each of they said and left out what they really meant
In the commercial against obama they only quoted a few words when he may have said something else later, but the commercial only shows a small portion of it. In the commercial against Romney they only focused on the bad things he did when he may have done it on accident and unknowingly. Maybe Romney even did many good things for the company.
these videos are biased because the first one only talks about what Obama has done that is bad for this country and it claims that Obama is not in touch with the private sector the second video is biased because it claims that mitt Romney and only wants money
These videos are biased because it showed only point or view of the argument. In the Obama one it mad him the "bad guy" because he was supposedly not in touch with the private sector. In the Mitt Romney one it shows he wanted to spend money and go bank rupt, showing he would not be a good leader. Rachel Savage
These videos are obviously negative campaigning. The foundations sponsoring these videos are focusing on negative decisions Romney may have made and one negative sentence Obama said. So that people will only think of those bad things when they decide who to vote for. The Americans for Prosperity (AFP) and American Federation of State, Country & Municipal Employees (AFSCME) will probably benefit if the contestants they are campaigning against lose.
The videos are biased because they only take the bad things that the candidates have said to make them sound like bad people to run our country. For the Obama video, they took one part of his speech from that day and made it sound like that was his only thought on the subject. That he doesn't care about us, and overall they just kept using that tiny bit from a bigger speech to try and make their opinion seem right. For the Romney video, they make it sound like it was him who was making us bankrupt and taking our medicare. When it was a whole company that he happened to work for. Also what was then happened in the past and that does not mean it would be how he would take the situation now. Both of these videos just use the past or a little part of a speech to make the candidates look the way that will make their biased opinion seem right.
The Obama video is biased because it only plays one part of his speech and not the rest. Also the Mitt Romney video is biased because it only talks about how Romney took money.
These articles are biased because they only say what they want you to hear you don't hear about good things those presidential candidates did you only hear what the maker of the commercial wants you to. The things said in these commercials are only the mistakes the presidential candidates have made it says nothing of any good things they have done learning from those mistakes
Both of these video are biased to the people running for president, and they are only saying one side of the stories. In the Obama video they didnt say any of the good things he is doing for the country, and in the Romney video they aren't saying anything he did good for the country. Ads like these just want you to not vote for a certain person so another one can be elected.
The videos are biased because they're all trying to beat eachother in the campaign towards presidency. The clips could have been changed or edited to make it sound like one thing, when really it's a whole different one.
Both of these clips are biased. In the first one, "Doing Fine", it is biased against Obama. They state things that can't be proven, like he isn't in touvh with the people. Also, you only hear one line of his speech, and you have to hear it in context to understand it completely. In the second one, about Mitt Romney, they only talk about his past, and they barely talk about what he is doing now. They blamed everything that had to do with the Damon Corporation on him. Both of the clips only state the negatives, and only have one side of the story.
The videos are biased because each of the candidates are running for presidency. The clips could have been changed or edited because with the technology that's available because it's so easy to do. From the video of Romney they made it sound like he was the one who was bankrupting our country, but really it's all the Americans living outside there means.
The videos are biased because they each critize each candidate without Romney or Obama actually giving there opinion. The clips in the video could have also been changed to make it sound like something it really wasn't.
These two videos are biased because they compleyly rip on both of the presidents and without backing up the numbers in the comercial how are we supposed to belive it? For exampls Romney was ripped on for personally reaping 437,000 dollars. How are we supposed to know that is true. It says that while obama was president there were 40 straight months of umemployment above 8% but still they dont back it up. We cant or shouldnt belive this if there are no details to back it up!!!
The commercials are biased against the representatives. They both make eachother look bad for one thing. They never stated any good things they have done. Clearly these commercials were made so people wont vote for obama or romney.
These videos are biased because they only focus on the bad things these two canidates have done. In the Mitt Romney video it only focused on what he did in his past and it didnt focus on what he will do in the future for our country. In the Obama video, when he said "the private sector is doing fine." it only keys in on that part of his speech. It does not say what he said in the rest of his speech. They are just taking parts out of his speech to make him look bad. Both of these videos just use the bad things that happened in Mitt Romneys future, and just use a little part of Obamas speech without puttin the rest of it in. This will make the canidates look bad and people wont realize what these people could really do for our country.
Both of these videos are bias because they are only saying the negative things about the people campaining for President. If Obama was the perfect president, but an organization didn't like him, they would risk it all to find something negative about him to convince the people that he is not fit to be President. Also, in the anti-Romney ad, the quotes they use arn't even from the same year. One is from 2001 while the other is from 2007. Even though they come from the same newspaper company, they could be totally different topics about Mitt Romney. This shows how desperate these organizations are to convince voters to change their opinion.
The video " Doing Fine" is subjective, it os baised against Obama, they most likely was picked apart and edited to make Obama look bad. The video "AFSCME anti-Romney ad "Greed" 2012 is objective, it used statistics and facts.
These commercials are biased because they are for/by the opposition of the person who is talked about, so of course they will something negative toward that person, to benefit who wrote it.
Both of the commercials are biased. The Obama one is because they took part of his speech and made it so that it seems as if he doesn't even care. The Romney one is biased because they made it sound as if he was taking money for his own benefit and not helping everyone else out.
Both the videos show bias. They want you to think a certain way, so they only show you something that will sway your opoinon twords on side or another.
Both of these videos are biased because they only show one side of the opinion. In "Doing Fine" it is negative towards Obama and states that America doesn't want him. In the anti-Romney commercial it talks about his business man past. They should show both sides or neither.
These videos are bias because they don't give the other side of the story, they only give the negative side of the story to make themselves look better. They make these ads to make the other one look bad so they won't get as many votes.
Both videos are Biased only because what this guy is saying is bad things about the guys running for president. Some people may think Romney is greedy. Some people may think Obama thinks that the private sector is doing fine. Then again some people may think that the Romney isn't greedy and people may think Obama thinks that the sector is doing fine. Either way it's people's own opinions.
the commerical about obama is biased because it claims that the private sector's is struggling by using dept. of Treasury and bureau of labor stats that may not be all his fault.
the romney commerical are biased because they claim he made his money through fraud.
The videos are biased because they only show one half and one persons side of the story which can make them look or sound better than the other person you don't hear in the video. Like in the Romney video they only talk about how Romney is making things bad and not Obama, and vice versa for the other video.
Both videos are bias because first of all they only give on side of the story the other side of the story is completely left out and use little parts and info from places and cutting the rest of making it look like the person is bad/good. The other thing is they do this bias stuff so that the other person wont get as many votes as them and make the other person look bad
Obama video: Its biased because they took a little snidbit of Obama saying something and making it bad. He was probably in the middle of a sentence. Romney video: They said that Romney made a absolute fortune, but he only made 475,000. Thats a lot but not what they are making it out to be.
The videos shown here only talk about one persons mistakes and not the others, which shows how they are bias. This makes people want to vote for the other instead of the one in the video. If they don't show both sides its worthless to listen to because its not always correct.
The first video was bias because they never said anything positive on Obama, only bad things so people can believe the commercial. In the second video they only say how Romney made a medical fraud and the title itself says "Anti- Romney".
Booth video are bias because they don't tell the whole story of the situation. For example in the Obama commercial when they say the private sector is doing fine he could not be talking about the economy he could be referring to anything. And in the Romney commercial when his company was fine he could not have been in charge or it could have been someone below him that he just didn't know about. And when it saids he makes money on it the money could have been from something else not the illegal act.
They both are bias because all they do is talk trash about the other to win over peoples vote and not like the other person. They show this in all of there commercials on t.v. and computer videos.
The "Doing Fine" video and the "Greed" video are both biased because in the Anti-Obama video, it says the same line over and over again to make Obama seem ignorant that the economy is in trouble. In the Anti-Romney commercial, it shows quotes of people saying he is greedy to make others believe that, too. It also shows he will turn into someone else who made mistakes and was greedy.
Both commercials are biased. The Obama commercail shows how the economy is doing bad and Barack can't come to notice this, driving our country down. The Romney commercial shows how Romney was is a greedy buisness man and how this company was drove to the ground while Romney (a director) came out rich. Both commercails go against eachother to covince America they're the better choice.
In the Obama Advertisement, the narrator seemed to be biased because he kept saying over and over again how "the private sector is not doing fine". The narrator didn't have a great amount of backup to his comment. But Obama also was biased in saying that "the private sector is doing fine". But the narrator never showed the viewer why Obama made the statement. You could argue IF you had accurate statistics and a objective definition of "fine". In Mitt Romney's advertisement, the narrator did have a good number of statistics, but was very biased and harsh, repeatedly saying that Mr. Romney was "greedy". But what would make the argument objective is more proof on the case with Damon corp.
Both videos are biased because they are both saying negative things about the person it is based on. For example, the "Greed" video was telling you how they think Romney was greedy and the "Doing Fine" video was telling you how they think President Obama is not noticing how bad the economy is.
The first video was bias because they never said anything positive on Obama, only bad things so people can believe the commercial. In the second video they only say how Romney made fraud, they only gave bad facts on him but never said anything good about him, so it is bias too because they didn't give facts the good things.
these 2 videos are biased against both candidates running for presidency to show both how negative they are and say they have greed and how obama says that some are doing fine so they can say that he doesnt know how everyone else in are economy is doing. It gives terrible facts about them also and does not back it up.
The Romney campaign's commercial is biased because they used a soundbite from a speech without including context. The small bit that they showed was part of a larger response, to the fact that private sector jobs have grown by 4.5 million in the last twenty nine months, although public sector jobs have declined. This was the context in which Obama stated " The private sector is doing fine. ". The Obama campaign's commercial is biased because they tried to make it seem that what "Romney's company" did wrong was fraud. What they did was legal, just not ethical.
Both of these videos are biased. They are both taking little things out of what happened and exploding them out of proportion. They are only saying the bad things about both candidates. Neither one of the videos are saying why we should elect THEIR candidate but bashing their opponent.
Both of these videos are biased. They are both taking little parts out of what they said or what they did and exploding it out of proportion. Neither one of these videos are saying why we should elect THEIR candidate but instead are just bashing the opposing candidate.
The first video with President Obama was saying subjective statements, like "private sector is doing fine." Also, it was made by a finical company. Therefore making it biased. The second video with Mitt Romney, said he "made a fortune." He didn't make nearly as much as Obama with our tax payer dollars. This "made a fortune" statement is very biased.
Both of these two videos are biased becasue they both try to pursway your oppinion to go one way or the other. Dont show both sides of the case or sitation.
Both of these two videos are biased becasue they both try to pursway your oppinion to go one way or the other. Dont show both sides of the case or sitation.
Both the commercials are biases because they only give you have the facts, only one point of view. Obamas speech was taken apart to make him look bad and tell about the bad past of Romney to make you think like them.
Both of the videos are biased and try to make a negative impact on the opposing party. In "Doing Fine," they never say what Obama was referring to when he said "the private sector is doing fine." They took it out of context. In the Anti-Romney ad, the video focuses on a previous job and said he made a fortune from them even though the business was fined for fraud. But nobody defines what making a fortune really is. To some it may be a fortune, but to others it may just be a very small sum of money.
Both of the videos are biased. First of all it only showed how they were doing bad. Romney making the country go bankrupt and obama saying that the private sector is doing good. Videos can be clipped and changed very easily these days and anyone could have rigged these videos to be against both Obama and Romney. ~Daria O'Neill-Haugh
Both of these videos show bias because they only focus on taking parts of what someone said and using it out of context to make it look like the opposing side is not who we should choose and to promote their candidate.
this video is biased because they are only telling one side of the story. they are exaggerating the bad things they have done and given 0 credit for what good they have done. they are just taking things to make him look worse, and it never had either campaigner "approve" the message in either video.
the Obama video is biased because they are only using one quote and exaggerating it to make him look even worse, and they don't tell the whole story, or add more of what he said, about the topic.
Both of these video clips show bias because they take small parts of what somebody said and using it out of context to make the opposing side look bad and their own side look like the better choice
Both of the videos are biased. In the doing fine advertisement, they lash out at Obama because they say he is out of touch with the rest of america. That is there opinion. In the Romney ad they say hey is a greedy business man because when his company went under he came out rich. Both of the ads exploit each candidate with one thing they said or something from the past.
Both commercials are biased. They only showed the negative things theyve said. i the obama video they took a part of what he was saying and made him look bad. he was probally in the middle of a sentence. and they made mitt romney look like he was a greedy buisness man who took all themoney a company made for himself
Both of these videos are biased because they're not including the whole speech of what was said exactly. They just took out a couple words and made it way worse than it probably really was. Also, they are just finding things that the other has done in order to make them look bad in hope of winning the election.
"Doing Fine" is biased because its not telling the whole story. It's only telling a portion of it to make Barack Obama look like a bad President. When in reality hes not really that bad of a president. "AFSCME anti-Romney ad "Greed" 2012" is also biased because its only telling about Romneys part in defrauding medical care of millions and him profitting from that. Did you ever consider that maybe he wasn't actually part of that? Maybe he was just there when it happened. We only know what the media wants us to know. We will probably never know the whole truth about anything that is going on because the media only tells us what they want to and then they leave out the rest.
These videos focus on the negative rather than the positive. They attack one small event that happened and grow it way out of proportion. They repeatedly criticize the opposing candidate rather than lifting up their own. These videos are very heavily biased.
Both of these commercials are biased. They both say bad things about either one of the canidates. They use quotes and text without giving a source or date.
These commercials are very biased since they are both bashing on the candidates. They don't mention any of the good things they have done. These commercials are obviously made to go convince people to vote against Obama (1st one) and against Romney (2nd one).
Both of these commercials are biased in the sence that they dont look at both sides of the story, romney people are blaming obama for how things are now, and obama people are saying that romney is not the awnser Billy Bartells
These are very bias. The one against Obama claims he said "the private sector is doing fine." He did say that but the evidence they have to support that has nothing to do with the private sector.
The above commercials are biased because they only show the information that backs up the point they are making. Only one viewpoint is being presented. They took things out of context and used it to deceive viewers.
The commercials are both biased because both of the script authors disagree with a political candidate, and they carefully make the commercial for the viewer to believe their political candidate.
These commercials are biased because they only give us one side of the story. In the Obama commercial, they only talk about how Obama thinks our jobs are doing fine when really there not, they do not talk about anything else he said during that speech.
ReplyDeleteThe commercials are biased when in the the Obama commercial the statment "The Private sector's doing fine" Was said on June 8th. When was the commercial published? In the Romney commercial the end stated that AFSCME is responible for the commercial.
ReplyDeleteThese commericals are biased in that they are eaching trying to cast a negative viewpoint on the presidential canidates.
ReplyDeleteRomny, and Obama, are both biased towards profit? It seems to me that the commercials are against them both, trying to make them look bad..
ReplyDeleteThey are biased because they are both really opinions some people may think that Mitt Romney is greedy but some people may not and some people may think that the private sector isn't doing fine but some may think it is.

In the anti-Romney commercial it tells of Romney's past as a business man, and of some of his mistakes. It's biased because it only focuses on how his company defrauded medicare. ReplyDeleteThese commercials are biased because even though they use facts, they're using the facts against one person and putting some opinion in it. In the "doing fine" commercial the facts are making Obama look bad and same for the "Anti-Romney" commercial.
ReplyDeleteThe Obama commercial is biased to Mitt Romney's favor, suggesting that Obama "thinks the private sector is doing fine" by only taking out the words that fit their argument the most.
ReplyDeleteThe Romney commercial is biased towards Obama's favor claiming that Mitt Romney was a part of a scandle
ReplyDeletethat had cheated Americans in health care
ReplyDeleteclearly, both of these commercials contain bias towards their candidates. They're trying to put their opponents in a bad light. I also think that both of these videos probably contain quotes that are taken out of context, because they don't show the whole clips or sentences where they originated from.
ReplyDeleteThese commercials are biased because obviously each commercial is attacking one of the candidates. They also don't even say anything about the candidate the commercials are supposed to be supporting.
ReplyDeleteIn the first commercial it tells about President Obama, it gives many facts and opions.
ReplyDeleteFor the 2nd video, I think that all that stuff about Romney's business failure and all that data, is almost irrelevant to the topic of presidency. It might be completeley relevent, but also it could have nothing to do with how he would run the country. A country and buisness are completely different things to me. I might be wrong, but thats just my opinion.
ReplyDeleteI think these are biased because each video has different opinions and are very one sided.
ReplyDeleteIn the Obama video he said that the private sector is doing fine and that is the objective.
ReplyDeleteThese commercials are being biased when they asume that we should not vote for Obama but vote for Romney and vice versa just because they made one mistake, that they are not a good president.
ReplyDeleteThese articles are both biased because they both include different opinions about certain people. Whether they like these people or not they say what they think.
ReplyDeleteIt was biased because they used really sad things to help their videos. They used sad footage of families or sad pictures. They used neat effects and stats to help their case in a way. It changed people's thought of the electors.
ReplyDeleteIt was biased because they used really sad things to help their videos. They used sad footage of families or sad pictures. They used neat effects and stats to help their case in a way. It changed people's thought of the electors.
ReplyDeleteBoth videos are biased that the candidate is bad with money and cant lead our country because they dont understand the problem or the people.
ReplyDeleteboth videos were biased that the candidate was bad and couldnt handle money good enough and they dont understand the problem or the people at all so they won't/can't be a good leader.
ReplyDeletethe way they were bias is because they talked only the negative of their opponents and they did not talk about them in both perspectives. They made the viewers feel like that is the only thing Obama/Romney does.
ReplyDeleteUhm I don't really know what to comment but for the first video Obama is dumb. No offense. With him saying that in genreal everyone is ok. Which is obviously not true.
ReplyDeleteThese videos are misleading the first implys that the private sector is losing jobs but it is really gaining jobs just not that quickly the second video implys that Mitt Romney in a criminal but he claims to have reported the crime so I don't know what to believe about him.
ReplyDeletePatrick t.
The person who made the commercials, may be biased because they may not like Romney. And they may not like republicans.
ReplyDeleteboth comment is bias because it it makes the runny
ReplyDeletepeople seem horrible.
The people who made the commercials may be biased, because they may not like Romney or the republicans.
ReplyDeleteThey're baised because took what a canidate did/say and gived it a new meaning. Just to get votes
ReplyDeleteSome people might like Romney, not all people would agree that he is a medicare fraud. Obama said that private sectors are doing fine, but a lot of private sectors could be many jobs below employment.
ReplyDeleteThese commercials are biased because almost half of the commercial is subjective and made their candidate look better and more honest/in touch with current events.
ReplyDeleteThese videos are baised on how presidents and people running for president have ruined history. They also shows the negitive and positive of that person either with facts of opinions in a commerical.
ReplyDeleteBoth of these commercials are biased because they try to change your opinion on the candidates. By making the other candidate look bad.
ReplyDeleteThe videos are biased because they may twist the facts to make it look like they are a better candidates then the other people running, they are trying to make themselves look good.
ReplyDeleteBoth of these videos are very biased due to the fact that they dont let you see the other side of the story. In the first video about the private sector it has all of the opionions for against the president what about for him? Also, in the second video it explains how Romney is a bad buissness man and shows all of the bad things he has comitted. They did that to think twice about voting for him, then instead, vote for Obama.
ReplyDeleteAnti-Romney-
ReplyDeleteThey are biased about how greedy Romney was, by showing the bad facts about him draining money into his hands. They didn't state how he did good things on the subject.
Doing Fine-
In "Doing Fine," Obama claimed everything was just fine.
ReplyDeleteIn both of the following videos there is a bias opinion.
ReplyDeleteBoth of these videos are biased.
ReplyDeleteAmerica.
ReplyDeleteDoing fine:This is bias because all but one statistic comes from the bureau of labor statistics and I went to the website and the private sectors are opening and closing at the same rate for the past 10 years and the facts they provide didn't even involve the private sector they talk about unemployment and it could of been any unemployment not just the private sector."private sector
ReplyDeletenoun
the area of the nation's economy under private rather than governmental control". That saying comes from http://dictionary.reference.com and the government debt has nothing to do with the private sector
Mitt Romney:In the mitt Romney commercial the facts are from the Boston Globe, a newspaper and newspapers are not always true and are hard to trust.
Both of these commercials are biased towards their opponents. Each commercial represents Romney, or President Obama in a negative way, and pointing out the mistakes that were made in the past, thus, making the other candidate look better.
ReplyDeleteThese videos are both biased.
ReplyDeleteThe two commercials above, are both biased because the Obama video is saying only bad things about Obama and the Romney video is only saying bad things about the Romney video. Neither of the videos state anything bad about the other candidate running for president. Also, in the Romney video they make the color black and white to make him seem boring and in the Obama video they make him repeat,"the private sector is doing fine," making him sound not so smart and keeping to his word.
ReplyDeleteThese commercials are biased because it only gives one side of the opinion. They said that Obama's statement, "private sectors are fine," was false. They also said that Mitt Romney was greedy and a corporate fraud.
ReplyDeleteThese videos are biased. They make it seem like all obama said was "private sector is doing fine." but really had a lot more to his speech. The second video is comparing the guy to some other person.
ReplyDeleteIn the commercial about Obama it's biased because it takes one clip of his voice and makes him sound very wrong by supporting it with facts that appear on animated newspapers that most probably assume are true. In the Mitt Romney one it only focuses on Romney's past mistakes and I checked out www.afscme.org and it looked like a news website for interesting stories... so no wonder why they would want to make it like that.
ReplyDeleteyes we all know that each video was biased because they like a certain person but i think the they could have chosen parts of what each of they said and left out what they really meant
ReplyDeleteIn the commercial against obama they only quoted a few words when he may have said something else later, but the commercial only shows a small portion of it. In the commercial against Romney they only focused on the bad things he did when he may have done it on accident and unknowingly. Maybe Romney even did many good things for the company.
ReplyDeletethese videos are biased because the first one only talks about what Obama has done that is bad for this country and it claims that Obama is not in touch with the private sector the second video is biased because it claims that mitt Romney and only wants money
ReplyDeleteThese videos are biased because it showed only point or view of the argument. In the Obama one it mad him the "bad guy" because he was supposedly not in touch with the private sector. In the Mitt Romney one it shows he wanted to spend money and go bank rupt, showing he would not be a good leader.
ReplyDeleteRachel Savage
These videos are obviously negative campaigning. The foundations sponsoring these videos are focusing on negative decisions Romney may have made and one negative sentence Obama said. So that people will only think of those bad things when they decide who to vote for. The Americans for Prosperity (AFP) and American Federation of State, Country & Municipal Employees (AFSCME) will probably benefit if the contestants they are campaigning against lose.
ReplyDeleteThe videos are biased because they only take the bad things that the candidates have said to make them sound like bad people to run our country.
ReplyDeleteThe Obama video is biased because it only plays one part of his speech and not the rest. Also the Mitt Romney video is biased because it only talks about how Romney took money.
ReplyDeleteThese articles are biased because they only say what they want you to hear you don't hear about good things those presidential candidates did you only hear what the maker of the commercial wants you to. The things said in these commercials are only the mistakes the presidential candidates have made it says nothing of any good things they have done learning from those mistakes
ReplyDeleteBoth of these video are biased to the people running for president, and they are only saying one side of the stories. In the Obama video they didnt say any of the good things he is doing for the country, and in the Romney video they aren't saying anything he did good for the country. Ads like these just want you to not vote for a certain person so another one can be elected.
ReplyDeleteThe videos are biased because they're all trying to beat eachother in the campaign towards presidency. The clips could have been changed or edited to make it sound like one thing, when really it's a whole different one.
ReplyDeleteBoth of these clips are biased.
ReplyDeleteThe videos are biased because each of the candidates are running for presidency. The clips could have been changed or edited because with the technology that's available because it's so easy to do. From the video of Romney they made it sound like he was the one who was bankrupting our country, but really it's all the Americans living outside there means.
ReplyDeleteThe videos are biased because they each critize each candidate without Romney or Obama actually giving there opinion. The clips in the video could have also been changed to make it sound like something it really wasn't.
ReplyDeleteThese two videos are biased because they compleyly rip on both of the presidents and without backing up the numbers in the comercial how are we supposed to belive it? For exampls Romney was ripped on for personally reaping 437,000 dollars. How are we supposed to know that is true. It says that while obama was president there were 40 straight months of umemployment above 8% but still they dont back it up. We cant or shouldnt belive this if there are no details to back it up!!!
ReplyDeleteThe commercials are biased against the representatives. They both make eachother look bad for one thing. They never stated any good things they have done. Clearly these commercials were made so people wont vote for obama or romney.
ReplyDeleteThese videos are biased because they only focus on the bad things these two canidates have done.
ReplyDeleteBoth of these videos are bias because they are only saying the negative things about the people campaining for President.
ReplyDeleteThe video " Doing Fine" is subjective, it os baised against Obama, they most likely was picked apart and edited to make Obama look bad.
ReplyDeleteThe video "AFSCME anti-Romney ad "Greed" 2012 is objective, it used statistics and facts.
These commercials are biased because they are for/by the opposition of the person who is talked about, so of course they will something negative toward that person, to benefit who wrote it.
ReplyDeleteBoth of the commercials are biased. The Obama one is because they took part of his speech and made it so that it seems as if he doesn't even care. The Romney one is biased because they made it sound as if he was taking money for his own benefit and not helping everyone else out.
ReplyDeleteBoth the videos show bias. They want you to think a certain way, so they only show you something that will sway your opoinon twords on side or another.
ReplyDeleteBoth of these videos are biased because they only show one side of the opinion. In "Doing Fine" it is negative towards Obama and states that America doesn't want him. In the anti-Romney commercial it talks about his business man past. They should show both sides or neither.
ReplyDeleteThese videos are bias because they don't give the other side of the story, they only give the negative side of the story to make themselves look better. They make these ads to make the other one look bad so they won't get as many votes.
ReplyDeleteBoth videos are Biased only because what this guy is saying is bad things about the guys running for president. Some people may think Romney is greedy. Some people may think Obama thinks that the private sector is doing fine. Then again some people may think that the Romney isn't greedy and people may think Obama thinks that the sector is doing fine. Either way it's people's own opinions.
ReplyDeletethe commerical about obama is biased because it claims that the private sector's is struggling by using dept. of Treasury and bureau of labor stats that may not be all his fault.
ReplyDeletethe romney commerical are biased because they claim he made his money through fraud.
The videos are biased because they only show one half and one persons side of the story which can make them look or sound better than the other person you don't hear in the video. Like in the Romney video they only talk about how Romney is making things bad and not Obama, and vice versa for the other video.
ReplyDeleteBoth videos are bias because first of all they only give on side of the story the other side of the story is completely left out and use little parts and info from places and cutting the rest of making it look like the person is bad/good. The other thing is they do this bias stuff so that the other person wont get as many votes as them and make the other person look bad
ReplyDeleteObama video: Its biased because they took a little snidbit of Obama saying something and making it bad. He was probably in the middle of a sentence.
ReplyDeleteRomney video: They said that Romney made a absolute fortune, but he only made 475,000. Thats a lot but not what they are making it out to be.
The videos shown here only talk about one persons mistakes and not the others, which shows how they are bias. This makes people want to vote for the other instead of the one in the video. If they don't show both sides its worthless to listen to because its not always correct.
ReplyDeleteThe first video was bias because they never said anything positive on Obama, only bad things so people can believe the commercial. In the second video they only say how Romney made a medical fraud and the title itself says "Anti- Romney".
ReplyDeleteBooth video are bias because they don't tell the whole story of the situation.
ReplyDeleteThey both are bias because all they do is talk trash about the other to win over peoples vote and not like the other person. They show this in all of there commercials on t.v. and computer videos.
ReplyDeleteThe "Doing Fine" video and the "Greed" video are both biased because in the Anti-Obama video, it says the same line over and over again to make Obama seem ignorant that the economy is in trouble. In the Anti-Romney commercial, it shows quotes of people saying he is greedy to make others believe that, too. It also shows he will turn into someone else who made mistakes and was greedy.
ReplyDeleteBoth commercials are biased.
ReplyDeleteIn the Obama Advertisement, the narrator seemed to be biased because he kept saying over and over again how "the private sector is not doing fine". The narrator didn't have a great amount of backup to his comment. But Obama also was biased in saying that "the private sector is doing fine". But the narrator never showed the viewer why Obama made the statement. You could argue IF you had accurate statistics and a objective definition of "fine".
ReplyDeleteIn Mitt Romney's advertisement, the narrator did have a good number of statistics, but was very biased and harsh, repeatedly saying that Mr.
ReplyDeleteThe first video was bias because they never said anything positive on Obama, only bad things so people can believe the commercial. In the second video they only say how Romney made fraud, they only gave bad facts on him but never said anything good about him, so it is bias too because they didn't give facts the good things.
ReplyDeletethese 2 videos are biased against both candidates running for presidency to show both how negative they are and say they have greed and how obama says that some are doing fine so they can say that he doesnt know how everyone else in are economy is doing. It gives terrible facts about them also and does not back it up.
ReplyDeleteThe Romney campaign's commercial is biased because they used a soundbite from a speech without including context.
ReplyDeleteBoth of these videos are biased. They are both taking little things out of what happened and exploding them out of proportion. They are only saying the bad things about both candidates. Neither one of the videos are saying why we should elect THEIR candidate but bashing their opponent.
ReplyDeleteBoth of these videos are biased. They are both taking little parts out of what they said or what they did and exploding it out of proportion. Neither one of these videos are saying why we should elect THEIR candidate but instead are just bashing the opposing candidate.
ReplyDeleteThe first video with President Obama was saying subjective statements, like "private sector is doing fine." Also, it was made by a finical company. Therefore making it biased. The second video with Mitt Romney, said he "made a fortune." He didn't make nearly as much as Obama with our tax payer dollars. This "made a fortune" statement is very biased.
ReplyDeleteBoth of these two videos are biased becasue they both try to pursway your oppinion to go one way or the other. Dont show both sides of the case or sitation.
ReplyDeleteBoth of these two videos are biased becasue they both try to pursway your oppinion to go one way or the other. Dont show both sides of the case or sitation.
ReplyDeleteBoth the commercials are biases because they only give you have the facts, only one point of view. Obamas speech was taken apart to make him look bad and tell about the bad past of Romney to make you think like them.
ReplyDeleteBoth of the videos are biased and try to make a negative impact on the opposing party.
ReplyDeleteBoth of the videos are biased. First of all it only showed how they were doing bad. Romney making the country go bankrupt and obama saying that the private sector is doing good. Videos can be clipped and changed very easily these days and anyone could have rigged these videos to be against both Obama and Romney.
ReplyDelete~Daria O'Neill-Haugh
Both of these videos show bias because they only focus on taking parts of what someone said and using it out of context to make it look like the opposing side is not who we should choose and to promote their candidate.
ReplyDeletethis video is biased because they are only telling one side of the story. they are exaggerating the bad things they have done and given 0 credit for what good they have done. they are just taking things to make him look worse, and it never had either campaigner "approve" the message in either video.
ReplyDeletethe Obama video is biased because they are only using one quote and exaggerating it to make him look even worse, and they don't tell the whole story, or add more of what he said, about the topic.
ReplyDeleteBoth of these video clips show bias because they take small parts of what somebody said and using it out of context to make the opposing side look bad and their own side look like the better choice
ReplyDeleteBoth of the videos are biased. In the doing fine advertisement, they lash out at Obama because they say he is out of touch with the rest of america. That is there opinion. In the Romney ad they say hey is a greedy business man because when his company went under he came out rich. Both of the ads exploit each candidate with one thing they said or something from the past.
ReplyDeleteBoth commercials are biased. They only showed the negative things theyve said. i the obama video they took a part of what he was saying and made him look bad. he was probally in the middle of a sentence. and they made mitt romney look like he was a greedy buisness man who took all themoney a company made for himself
ReplyDeleteBoth of these videos are biased because they're not including the whole speech of what was said exactly. They just took out a couple words and made it way worse than it probably really was. Also, they are just finding things that the other has done in order to make them look bad in hope of winning the election.
ReplyDelete"Doing Fine" is biased because its not telling the whole story. It's only telling a portion of it to make Barack Obama look like a bad President. When in reality hes not really that bad of a president.
ReplyDelete"AFSCME anti-Romney ad "Greed" 2012" is also biased because its only telling about Romneys part in defrauding medical care of millions and him profitting from that.
ReplyDeleteBoth of these commercials are biased. They both say bad things about either one of the canidates. They use quotes and text without giving a source or date.
ReplyDeleteThese commercials are very biased since they are both bashing on the candidates. They don't mention any of the good things they have done. These commercials are obviously made to go convince people to vote against Obama (1st one) and against Romney (2nd one).
ReplyDeleteThese commercials are very bias and I think that some of the information is a little bit eggagurated. They both make the candidate sound bad.
ReplyDeleteBoth of these commercials are biased in the sence that they dont look at both sides of the story, romney people are blaming obama for how things are now, and obama people are saying that romney is not the awnser
ReplyDeleteBilly Bartells
These commercials are bias because they use facts to convince you onto thier side when the facts have little to nothing reltaed to thier main idea.
ReplyDeleteit was kida believable the way they put it all together like that
ReplyDeletethese are very bias the only view that they have is from the people that are trying to sell something and or to make money.
ReplyDeleteEmily Simon
These are very bias. The one against Obama claims he said "the private sector is doing fine." He did say that but the evidence they have to support that has nothing to do with the private sector.
ReplyDeleteThe above commercials are biased because they only show the information that backs up the point they are making. Only one viewpoint is being presented. They took things out of context and used it to deceive viewers.
ReplyDeleteThe commercials are both biased because both of the script authors disagree with a political candidate, and they carefully make the commercial for the viewer to believe their political candidate.
ReplyDelete
